Wolfpack boys tennis season ends

Park’s season came to an end Monday with a 7-0 loss to fifth-seeded St. Thomas Academy Monday. The Wolfpack were the 12th-seeded team in the section.

Park dropped a 4-3 decision to visiting St. Paul Johnson Friday in the final match of the regular season.

In the match against Johnson, Park won three of four singles matches but dropped all three doubles. Winning Friday were Caleb Swigert at No.1 singles (10-5), Drew McDonald at No. 3 singles (10-5) and Tyler McKenzie at No. 4 singles (10-7).

Park slipped in all three doubles by 10-6 scores.

Park boys shoot season best at Tanners Brook Park boys finished sixth in a conference meet at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury Monday. The varsity was led by freshman Charlie Looker who scored a 79. Michael De-Stasio and Nathan Donlon shot 80s, Cooper Hein an 84 and Tyler Bonin an 85.

Park plays in the conference championship Monday, May 23, at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson.

The team shot a season best 311 to finish second in the meet at Tanners Brook Golf Course Wednesday, May 11. Five Park players finished in the top 12.

Senior Jack Burns carded a 76 to lead the tightly-bunched Wolfpack. Cooper Hein shot a 77, Camden Forys a 78 and Charles Looker an 85.

Forest Lake won the meet with a 294, followed by Park’s 311, Hopkins’ 313 and St. Louis Park’s 324.

Charlie Looker shot a 3-over par 75 to pace the Park golfers to the team’s best meet of the season playing at Oak Glen in Stillwater Tuesday, May 10.

Park finished third in the 10-team race with a score of 313. Camden Forys and Jack Burns shot 79s, Nathan Donlon had an 80, Cooper Hein an 82 and Michael DeStasio an 87.

Boys lacrosse falters on the road

Park suffered a very tough week in Suburban East Conference boys lacrosse, losing lopsided games at Woodbury, Stillwater and White Bear Lake.

Park dropped a 16-1 decision at Woodbury Friday, May 6, then fell 19-1 to fifth-ranked Stillwater at St. Croix Rec Center Wednesday, May 11.

The Wolfpack fell at White Bear Lake Friday 15-7. Park (4-4, 4-5) has four games this week – the first three at home — as the regular season comes to a close: hosting conference-leading Irondale (7-0, 7-1) Wednesday, then non-conference foes Hill-Murray Friday, and Simley Saturday before playing at Shakopee Monday.

Jensen leads Wolfpack girl golfers

Maggie Jensen carded a 42 to lead the Park High girl golfers in a Suburban East Conference meet at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury Thursday.

Park’s Taylar Nadler scored a 48. Chloe Baetler a 52 and Becca Rugless a 68. Park finished seventh in the meet with a score of 210. Park played Monday, May 9, at Stillwater Country Club and placed fifth overall. Maggie Jensen shot a 42, Taylar Nadlar a 43, Avery Corrigan a 48 and Becca Ruglass a 49.

Park girls lacrosse team downs Bears

Park outscored visiting White Bear Lake Friday evening 4-3 in the second half to win a 6-5 decision in Suburban East Conference lacrosse.

Madi Brinkman and Josie Leonard each scored a pair of goals for the Wolfpack. Megan Maloney and Kyleigh Mullen had one score apiece.

Goalie Aubree Laska stopped 9 of 14 shots on goal. With its fifth straight win, Park moved to 5-2 in the Suburban East Conference and 8-2 on the season Park has games at Irondale Wednesday and then at home against Simley Monday, May 23, to close out the regular season.
