Park baseball finishes second in the SEC with road sweep Park closed out the regular season with its most lopsided win of the spring with a 14-0 victory at Irondale Friday.

It was the third straight conference win for the Wolfpack following a 4-3 victory over Forest Lake and 13-3 triumph over Roseville.

Park finished 13-5 in the Suburban East Conference, one game back of league champion and third-ranked Stillwater which finished 14-4, and one game ahead of No. 5 Mounds View which went 12-6.

It was the second straight second-place conference finish for Park, which tied for second last season with a 12-6 record and went on to win a section title and finish second at state.

Park 13, Roseville 3 Park won a big one vs. Roseville at Northwestern College, Roseville Wednesday, outscoring the hosts 13-3.

Roseville led 2-0 after the first two innings, but Park pushed across three runs in the third, three more in the fourth inning and then six in the fifth to take command of the game.

The Wolfpack rally started in the third when they scored three runs on an error by the Roseville third baseman.

Two more Park runs came home in the fourth on a walk, single, sacrifice bunt and another Roseville error.

Noah Janski ripped a tworun triple in the top of the fifth to make it an 8-3 game. Two batters later, Jackson Tessman’s triple scored two runs, then he came into home on yet another Roseville throwing error than made it 12-3.

Tessman went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Noah Janski and Blake Johnson each drove in a pair of runs.

Park pitchers Tessman and Brady Drkula combined to hold Roseville to six hits, walked two and struck out 11. Drkula pitched the final five innings, giving up four hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Park 14, Irondale 0 Park pitchers Brady Strand and Josh Hatano combined for a two-hit shutout as the Wolfpack romped past host Irondale in five innings Friday. Strand and Hatano allowed just two hits while walking none and striking out eight. Hatano pitches the final inning and struck out each batter he faced.

Senior catcher Will Smoot continued his torrid streak at the plate, knocking in four runs with a double and a single.

Brady Drkula homered and had two RBIs. Teammates Micah Runion and Jackson Tessman also had two RBIS for the Wolfpack.

Park girls’ lacrosse gets two wins The Wolfpack wrapped up the regular season with wins against Irondale and Simley to finish 10-3 on the regular season, and 6-3 in the Suburban East Conference.

Stillwater 9, Park 7 Suburban East Conference champion Stillwater (8-0. 9-1) scored in the second overtime to escape Park 8-7 in Suburban East Conference girls’ lacrosse at Park Tuesday.

The game was a continuation of an earlier game which was adjourned at halftime. Both teams scored five goals in the second half and the first overtime was scoreless.

Madi Brinkman scored three goals to pace the Wolfpack. Megan Husaby scored twice for Park. Sand Shelby Hansen had one goal apiece.

Park 10, Irondale 0

Shelby Hansen powered in an amazing six goals and Park goalie Aubree Laska and the Park defense combined for the team’s first shutout of the season in a 10-0 win at Irondale Wednesday.

In 12 games, Hansen led Park in scoring with 35 goals and was third on the team in assists with seven.

Megan Maloney had two goals and an assist. Madi Brinkman and Josie Leonard each scored a goal. Leonard also added two assists.

With the win, Park finished 6-3 in the SEC, good for fourth place in the standings.

Park 10, Simley 3

The Wolfpack topped the visiting Simley Spartans in a non-conference contest at Park Monday.
