Washington County Fair Seeks Showy, Talented Dogs for Costume Competition

A new Washington County Fair attraction will feature some of the county’s finest four-legged residents. There will be two categories: Costumed Canines with their Dressed-Alike or Same-Themed Handlers, and Talented Costumed Canines. Prize Money for each category will be $150 for first place; $100 for second place; and $50 for third place.

The canines and their handlers will walk a runway to music while being introduced by Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry, the event’s Master of Canine Ceremonies. Both the canine and handler must reside in the county.

The Washington County Fair runs from Wednesday, August 3 through Sunday, August 7 in Baytown. The Canine Costume Competition will be held on Saturday, August 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Park Pavilion on the fairgrounds.

Pre-registration and other requirements must be met no later than Wednesday, July 13.
