Kimberly Ann (Baxter) Koenigs, 53, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away Tuesday Jan. 17, 2023, from complications of COVID pneumonia and a long battle with other long term illnesses.

Kimberly was born in Melrose, Minnesota to Charles and Sandra Baxter Oct. 24, 1969. In her early years she was an all state competitive swimmer and swim coach. Kimberly graduated with her Bachelor’s in Education at Mankato State University. Kimberly was a teacher in her late 20’s and early 30’s in Minnesota. In 2004 Kimberly moved to Iowa when she co-founded and became Executive Director of WCDA in Northwood, Iowa. Through the WCDA she helped lobby for a casino that created scholarships and grants for surrounding schools, businesses, and non-profits. She also helped lobby for Kadyn’s Law which to this day is her pride and joy. Once Kimberly moved down to Florida in 2014 she became an avid extreme couponer and taught hundreds of men and women how to save money. She couponed and donated to dozens of families and charities around Florida.

Kimberly loved to swim at the pool, coupon at Publix, call her girls and dad every day, chat with friends for hours, play with and give her grandbaby “head hugs”, chill with her doxies, organize her stockpile, and take rides in her mom’s mustang before she got sick.

Often she would tell her daughters “I love you to the moon and back and all the chocolate in between.” And when times were tough you could hear her always say, “It is what it is.”

Kimberly is predeceased by her Mother Sandra Baxter, Grandpa Glen Schultz, Grandma Rachael Schultz, and Uncle Dennis Schultz.

Kimberly is survived by her 3 Daughters; Rebecka Turner (Johnny), Autum Koenigs, Ambur Koenigs (Nathan). Her grandbaby Ezekial Turner. Her dad Charles Baxter, sister Lisa Ripley (Jim), brother Mike Baxter (Chris). Her 2 Dachshunds Molly and Lily. Her spouse Paul Koenigs and stepson Hunter Koenigs (Alison). And her many many friends who she loved dearly. She will always be our mom, a great friend, an amazing wife, and a loyal daughter even in death. We will all miss her dearly.
