BATTALION’S C COMPANY ESCORTED BACK TO LOCAL ARMORY BY CG POLICE

The 134th Brigade Support Battalion C Company is back home, being escorted back to its Armory this past February 2 by CG Police and others.

Headquartered at Fort Ripley with six different companies at Brooklyn Park, Cottage Grove, Duluth, Inver Grove Heights, St. James and St. Peter along with Camp Ripley, the 134th Brigade Support Battalion was deployed in March 2021 and served at 12 locations in nine countries, spread across the Middle East, Africa, and Southwest Asia.

“It’s our honor to make sure these men and women make it home to their loved ones safely,” Cottage Grove Police Chief Pete Koerner said. “Seeing the bus pull up to the armory and knowing the soldiers will soon hug their families after being away for so long is special.”

Arriving at the Minneapolis/ St. Paul International Airport in late morning this past Wednesday, members of C Company from the 134th Brigade Support Battalion boarded a bus to come back to the armory where they were reunited with their family and friends. Cottage Grove Public Safety picked up the escort in South St. Paul and were joined by fire units in Newport after crossing the river from Dakota County. The escort back home was coordinated by the Minnesota Patriot Guard, with St. Paul Park, Newport, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office participating as well.
