Join the East Cottage Grove Scramblers Snowmobile Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 6 for a vintage snowmobile show & swap and 5-mile vintage ride. This event also promises to have food, vendors, raffles and beer.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the swap starting at 10 a.m. and the vintage ride running from noon to 1:30 p.m. Judging is at 2 p.m. with trophies handed out at 3:30 p.m. There is a $10 swap entry fee and $5 per sled entry fee up to four, then additional sleds are free. Vintage and late model snowmobiles are welcome.
The swap is located at 70th Street and Highway 19, in Cottage Grove, across from the Carbone’s Restaurant, with the Entrance at County Road 19, south of the roundabout.
According to the Scramblers, “The East Cottage Grove Scramblers Snowmobile Club has been around since the early 70’s. Many current club members are related to founding and past members living in Old Cottage Grove, Cottage Grove, Denmark Township and Hastings areas.”
The Scramblers added that their hope is to keep the sport of snowmobiling alive. The hobby has been quickly fading away as the land in Cottage Grove turns into housing developments. Help them reintroduce this amazing winter sport back into the lives of everyone: families, kids and neighbors.
The club grooms 50-plus miles of trails.
