A teenage driver died on Valentine’s Day in a West Lakeland township crash.
At 4:04 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, Washington County deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Stagecoach Trail North and 10th Street North in West Lakeland Township.
Deputies arrived and located a two-vehicle accident and attempted life saving measures to the driver of one of the vehicles with assistance from the Bayport Fire Department and Lakeview EMS.
The driver of one of the vehicles, identified as 17-year-old Elizabeth “Libby" Radecki, from Woodbury died of her injuries at the scene. The other driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle.
The accident is currently under investigation with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol and weather-related roads appeared to be a factor. No further information will be released at this time.
