Free event to include Jazz quartet

Coming up shortly this Sunday July 25 from 5p.m. until 9 p.m., All Saints Lutheran Church located at 8100 Belden Boulevard in Cottage Grove will be hosting a free and family friendly event complete with food trucks, jazz music, and kids activities, calling this a “Community Family Night.”

Donations, though not required for the free event, will go towards supporting Habitat for Humanity and the organization South Washington County Cares or “SoWashCo Cares” for helping those in need in the area.

As to the Sunday night event itself, the Dwayne Tannahill Quartet will be playing Sunday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., with Jim Chenoweth on bass, Chris Lomheim on piano, Nathan Norman on drums, and Dwayne on sax and clarinet. In addition, there…will…be—food!

More specifically, food trucks from Hy-Vee, the Eggroll Queen, and Mik Mart will be on site, along with the CE Skoolie Bus for kids activities. Ok you say, so how do I and/or my family get to this Community Family Night at All Saints?

Glad you asked!

Located just off the 80th Street South exit on Highway 61 in west Cottage Grove, All Saints Lutheran can be reached from Highway 61 by taking a right onto Hadley Avenue while traveling west near the Holiday station, followed in quick succession with a left turn onto Belden Boulevard, where the church will be on your right side.

But maybe you’re coming from another way, like Grey Cloud Island. In that case, just take a right off Grey Cloud Trail onto 103rd Street and continue following this when it turns into Hadley Avenue, turning onto Belden Boulevard shortly after Hadley Avenue crosses 80th Street going north.

Apart from the Sunday July 25 Community Family Night, meanwhile, All Saints Lutheran is affiliated with the ELCA, an acronym for the “Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.” For more details on that end, readers can go to www.allsaintscg. org or check out the local congregation’s Facebook page at “All Saints Lutheran Church, ELCA,” with complete contact info and the chance to send an email.

Music, food, and fun!— what’s not to love?
