“Today we had a mix of young, inexperienced athletes and seasoned veterans compete,” said Park track coach Brad Narveson. “It was a great opportunity for our young athletes to get that big meet experience. And our upperclassmen who have been on our team for several years performed very well.
“We were led by our 1,600-meter runners finishing second and fourth. Henry Joa set a personal best and Eli Firchau set a season best,” said Narveson. “They both showed tremendous grit as they competed in some very windy conditions.
“Our horizontal jumpers also performed well,” Narveson added. “Danny Boesch and O’Neal Attisso had solid performances for this early in the season. Coach Dillard does a great job with our jumpers so we’re very confident they’ll continue to get better as the season progresses.”
Dylan Davis was 14th in the 400 (55.67), Liam Fleming 25th in the 1600 (5:11.68). Leam Hieserich led Park in the shot put with a throw of 35-2. Michael Bennett threw the discus 77-7 to finish 31st. Jayveon Wade finished 24th in the long jump (17-6) and 21st in the triple jump (35-3.75).
