Park junior O’neal Attisso set a person best and tied the school record in the high jump with a winning leap of 6-8 to lead Park in the Suburban East Conference track and field championships Thursday at White Bear Lake.
Attisso’s high jump tied the all-time Park best of 6-8, set in 2000 by Bryant Howe. He also finished seventh in the triple jump (41-5.75) and 26th in the long jump (18-9.75).
Junior sprinter Kroix Pearson also had a strong SEC meet for the Wolfpack, placing second in the 400 meters in a personal best of 49.66 and finishing fourth in the 100-meters in 11.47.
Park junior Henry Joa (4:27.59) and Eli Firchau (4:29.59) finished third and fourth respectively in the 1,600-meter run.
Senior Aidan Boche finished fourth in the discus with a best throw of 153-7 after finishing 20th in the shot put (43.-6.25) on Tuesday.
Attisso, Pearson, Joa and Boche have all added their names to Park’s all-time best record book this season. Perason has the eighth fastest 100-meter dash (11.04) and fourth-fastest 400 (49.66). Attisso now shares the leads for top high jump. Boche’s discus throw of 177-9 is the second best in the Park record book and Joa has the second fastest 1,600-meter time with a 4:22.13.
Senior Pajyeeb Kong led the Park girls with a fifth-place finish in the shot put (36-11.5) and finished seventh in the discus (108-7). Kong is the fifth Wolfpack athlete this season to make the school record book as her 37-11 shot put ranks third best.
Stillwater won both the boys and the girls team races.
In the girls team scoring it was: 1, Stillwater, 259.5. 2, Mounds View, 195. 3, Forest Lake, 179.5. 4, Roseville, 174. 5, White Bear Lake, 137. 6, Woodbury, 129. 7, Irondale, 101. 8, Cretin Derham Hall, 50. 9, East Ridge, 31. 10, Park 13.
In the boys race it was: 1, Stillwater, 197. 2, White Bear Lake, 182.5. 3, Woodbury, 174. 4, Mounds View, 173. 5, Irondale, 129. 6, Forest Lake, 121. 7, East Ridge, 104.5. 8, Roseville, 100.5. 9, Park, 77. 10, Cretin-Derham Hall, 10.5.
Park’s athletes now compete in the section prelims Wednesday and finals Friday at Macalester College in St. Paul.
Boys results
Gabriel Przekurat was eighth in the 200 (23.32), Olumide Aluko 22nd (24.26), Dylan Davis 28th (24.62) and Joshua Ola-Kazeem 29th). Davis was 22nd in the 400 (54.87) and Isaiah Diers 38th (59.32).
In the 1,600, Liam Fleming was 33rd (4:4.20) and Will Mann 40th (5:27.70). Firchau was also 26th in the 3,200 (10:36.23) and Mann 40th (11:49.76).
Adebare (Goodness) Agunbiade was 35th in the 110 hurdles (20.40) and Dominic Kamau 36th (21.06). Przekurat finished 30th in the 300 hurdles, Agunbiade was 31st (49.06), Dominic Kamau 35th (51.50) and Samuel Korth 36th (54.85).
Park was eighth in the 4x100 in 47.28, ninth in the 4x200 (1:37.63) and seventh in the 4x400 (Pearson, Firchau, Davis, Joa, 3:34.94).
Liam Hieserich was 33rd in the shot (36-5.75), Van Kassabian 35th (33-10.25). Michael Bennett was 36th (88-10), Lucas Sardeson 37th (77-9) and Hieserich 38th (66-6) in the discus.
Jayveon Wade was 14th in the long jump (19-11) and 24th in the triple jump (37-5), both personal bests. Benjamin Paulsen was 35th in the triple jump (34-1.75).
Attisso was seventh in the triple jump finals with a best of 41-5.75 to highlight Tuesday’s finals for the Wolfpack. Junior Henry Joa was 10th in the 3,200-meter run in a season-best time of 10:09.01. Boche threw the shot 43-6.25 and finished 20th. Jayveon Wade was 24th in the triple jump with a personal best of 37-5.
Girls results
Elizabeth Kamande was 23rd in the 100 (13.62), Hailey Garcia 32nd (14.11), Marissa Korth 33rd (14.14) and Aline Sosa Guevara 34th (14.15). Kamande was 14th in the 200, Grace Sahli 26th (28.85), Vivian Abla 34th (30.26) and Sosa Guevara 35th (30.49). Maleah McMorrow was 13th in the 400 (1:03.95), Esne Edlund 23rd (1:06.34). Jana Hafiz finished 32nd in the 1600 (5:53.79) and Allison Devine was 37th (6:08.17). Korth was 30th in the 100 hurdles (19.74). Garcia was 32nd in the 300 hurdles (55.60) and Korth 34th (56.92).
Park’s relay teams were 10th in the 4x100 and ninth in the 4x400.
Marlina Patrick was 25th in the shot put (27-1), Elinor Boche 32nd (25-2.25), Kalkidan Fuge 34th (22-2.5). Patrick finished 23rd in the discus (83-11), Boche 31st (65-2) and Fuge 36 (50-3).
Park had four finishers in the long jump. Edlund was 35th in the long jump (13.3.5), Abigail Schmitzer 35th (13-0.5), Adedolapo Agunbiade 39th (11-1.5) and Audrey Finley 40th (10-11). Edlund was 26th in the triple jump (30-7), Schmitzer 32nd (28-6.5), Natalie Gobena 33rd (28-3.5) and Finley 34th (28-3).
In Tuesday’s finals, Park junior Jana Hafiz was 20th in the 3,200 (12:54.43).
