Baseball season ends with loss to Two Rivers
Top-seeded Two Rivers (19-4) was too much to handle for seventh-seeded Park Friday in a season-ending game for the Wolfpack.
The Warriors defeated the Wolfpack 9-0 in an elimination game in the Class 4A, Section 3 tournament at Mendota Heights.
Park ended the season with a 4-19 record.
Park lost to Eagan 12-2 in the first round, then scored an 8-6 victory at Hastings in the elimination bracket first round. But then had to take on top-seeded Two Rivers in elimination play after the Warriors were upset by Apple Valley in the section quarterfinals.
Two Rivers advanced to the section elimination bracket semifinal against Eagan Monday at Alimagnet Park.
Raptors end Park’s boys lacrosse season
Host and second-seeded East Ridge ended Park’s boys lacrosse season Thursday evening, winning 16-5 in a Class 1A, Section 3 quarterfinals game.
Park ends the season with a 7-8 record.
East Ridge advanced to the section semifinals. Other teams to advance Thursday were third-seeded Cretin Derham Hall, a 7-4 winner over St. Paul/Two Rivers; top-seeded St. Thomas Academy, 16-6 winners over ninth-seeded Eagan; and fourth-seeded Woodbury, which dropped Hastings 16-5.
Thursday’s section contest outcome was similar to the regular season meeting between the two teams, a game the Raptors won 20-7.
Park had advanced out of the first round with a 16-11 win over Simley.

Seventh-seeded Park outgunned visiting 10th seeded Simley Tuesday, winning 16-11 in a Class 1A, Section first round matchup at Cottage Grove.
Bradley Johnson scored six goals to lead the Wolfpack offense. Zachary Devaan scores four, Alex Gustafson added two, Jacob Czarnota, Lucas Munger, Samuel Reckinger and Caden Schwartz had one goal each.
Gavin Sand went all the way in goal to earn the net win.
Bonin qualifies for state golf tournament
After missing the last two years by a single stroke, Park’s Tyler Bonin fought his way to the state golf tournament with a seventh-place finish in the MSHSL Boys 3AAA Section Tournament Friday at Bunker Hills Golf Club.
Bonin carded a 151 to tie for seventh and qualify for the state individual tournament. The state tournament will be back at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11.
Park qualified for the second day of section play after a good team first round at Loggers Trail Golf Club in Stillwater.
Korpi and Corrigan pace Park girl golfers
Park’s Olivia Korpi and Elise Corrigan advanced to the second round of section play Thursday after solid rounds at Loggers Trail Golf Club in Stillwater.
Korpi shot a 91 on Thursday and Elise Corrigan shot a 96 to qualify for day two of sections on Friday at Bunker Hills Golf Course, May 30. Corrigan made a 10-foot putt to secure her spot.
Park seniors Becca Rugless and Aspyn Offenhauser finished their season on Thursday. Both senior captains had a good season and were team leaders to a new look Park Wolfpack, said Park girls' golf coach Bay Shock.
“Olivia and Elsie played a solid round with top golfers from other schools,” Shock added.
