Bollman, Davis top Park gymnasts

Makala Bollman and Ashley Davis finished in the top 12 in the all-around and Park finished fifth in the 12-team race Saturday in its own Below Zero Invitational gymnastics meet.

Six Class AA teams ranked in the top 25 competed in the meet.

Bollman was 11th in the all around with a score of 34.550, just ahead of Davis who placed 12th with a score of 34.500. Clara Opichka was 37th with a score of 25.650, Natalie Peters 40th (24.650) and Alice Wood was 58th (16.050).

East Ridge’s Laney Schwellenbach won the all-around with a score of 38.300.

Davis’s best event came on the balance beam where she knocked down a score of 9.3, finishing second in the exercise. Opichka finished ninth on the beam with an 8.85. Savanna Woulfe scored an 8.55, Bollman an 8.5 and Wood a 7.75.

Davis finished third on the vault with a score of 9.45. Bollman was 13th (9.1). Peters scored an 8.45, Kadence Glide an 8.3 and Eleanor Thompson an 8.2.

Opichka led Park on bars with a score of 8.3. Bollman had an 8.15, Peters an 8.0, Kate Redmond a 7.45 and Davis a 7.2.

Bollman topped the Wolfpack on the floor, finishing 23rd and scoring an 8.8. Davis had an 8.55, Opichka an 8.45, Wood an 8.3 and Peters an 8.2.

Second-ranked Lakeville South took the team title with a top score of 146.150 points. Owatonna was second (140.950), East Ridge third (139.350), eighth-ranked Wayzata was fourth (137.250), Park fifth (136.500), No. 10 Sartell-St. Stephen sixth (136.200), No. 9 White Bear Lake seventh (135.350), Woodbury eighth (135.250), Stillwater ninth (133.750), No. 16 Rosemount 10tth (130.200), Roseville 11th (126.50) and Eden Prairie 12th (123.950).

Nineteenth-ranked Park hosts No. 11 Forest Lake Thursday, starting at 6 p.m.
