Brundidge named as USA Today Woman of the Year honoree

A Cottage Grove resident active in the community has been named a USA Today Woman of the Year honoree from Minnesota.

Sheletta Brundidge, age 50 of Cottage Grove was nominated by the public and then chosen by USA Today from Minnesota.

Other nominees this year for USA Today include Elle magazine editor Nina Garcia, Melinda French Gates, and Vice President Kamala Harris., along with gymnast Simone Biles.

As for Brundidge, the Emmy- award winning comedian with a website at www. shelettamakesmelaugh.com has many other accomplishments.

Married with children and author of two children’s book’s that address autism, Brundidge also podcasts and has used her influence to raise awareness on a host of issues including the importance of carbon monoxide detectors, among many other activities.
