October 5th, 2020, 11:30 am, The Cottage Grove Fire Department was called to a housefire on Ingberg Court where they enlisted the help of multiple surrounding agencies. Woodbury, Newport, St. Paul Park, Hastings, Oakdale, Lower St. Croix Valley and Lake Elmo all assisted with the call. During the call, Ingberg Trail was closed into the evening to allow the firefighters and EMS to work safely and assess the situation to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding structures. Everyone did make it out safely, but the family did lose one pet cat to the fire. The fire started in the garage; the cause is yet to be undetermined.
