Park scored wins at the top two singles matches to highlight a boys tennis match against visiting Henry Sibley Monday at home.
Sibley won the match 5-2, but Park head coach Tony Townsend was pleased with how his team performed.
“I’m extremely proud of this team,” said longtime coach Townsend. “Their positivity has been the highlight of the season. They try to control what they can control.”
Park sophomore Anthony Pomerleau rallied from a rough start to claim a 1-6, 6-1, 10-4 win at No. 1 singles.
Wolfpack freshman Caleb Swegert won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
“Both played outstanding today,” Townsend said.
Park’s top doubles team of Robbie Menard and Ethan Lo dropped a 5-7, 2-6 decision.
“We’re having a difficult time in conference because out conference is always so tough,” Townsend said. “But the kids are working hard and staying positive. That persistence has really paid off.”
“We’re extremely young but they’re staying positive,” Townsend added. “They get better every single match. They keep working their tails off. The next couple of years there’s a lot to look forward to.”
