Park junior Addie Corkish netted a hat trick with three goals in the Wolfpack’s 4-0 win over visiting Two Rivers/St. Paul in a non-conference girls hockey game Thursday at Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
Corkish scored her first goal in the second period to break a 0-0 tie. She then put in two more goals in the third period, the first just seven second into the period and the next at the 9:02 mark.
Stella Daly scored in between Corkish’s two third-period goals to give the Wolfpack a 3-0 lead.
Gabriella Stepka was perfect in the net, stopping all 19 shots she faced.
“The girls are working hard and getting better each day in practice, and it was fun to see their growth and understanding of concepts start to translate into the game,” said head coach Evan Ziegler. “Addie Corkish led the way with her hustle and work ethic in both the defensive and offensive zones, and she was rewarded with three beautiful goals and Gabby Stepka had her first varsity shutout in the net.”
Park (2-1) next takes on host Apple Valley (4-1) Friday and Eastview (0-5) on Saturday, both games at the Apple Valley Sports Arena, with 6 p.m. start times each day.
NOTES: After three games, Corkish leads the Wolfpack with 4 goals and 2 assists. Daly has 3 goals and 3 assists.
