Cottage Grove Chamber hosts 2023 Evening of Excellence Oct. 26

With 56 new members since last year’s Evening of Excellence to bring the membership to a total of 234 with 64 Women in Business members, the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce held the 2023 Evening of Excellence Thursday, Oct. 26 at Tinucci’s Restaurant in Newport. Giving many awards to area businesses, the 2023 Evening of Excellence was also the 55-year anniversary celebration for the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce.

With photography provided by Faith Kowitz of Faith’s Photography Studio and Matthew Deery of Added Element, the Cottage Grove Area Chamber presented awards to Tarah Beyer of Good Dog Marketing and Design Co. (Women in Business of the Year), Vickie Snyder of Basic Needs (Businessperson of the Year), RE/MAX Professionals (Small Business of the Year), Van Meter (Business of the Year), Mary Slusser of Spartan Promotional Group (Lifetime Achievement Award), and Gary Spooner of Santa Spoons (Legacy Award).

In addition, the Cottage Grove Area Chamber has also raised $6,000 for scholarships with its Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament for 2023, making the total the last 28 years come out to $68,900. The next golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, June 24, 2024, so mark your calendars!
