Cottage Grove Egg Hunt a success

Saturday, March 27th, Cottage Grove Parks and Recreation held an egg hunt at Woodridge park. The premise was simple. Eggs were scattered in the outfield of one of the baseball fields for each session. Prior to the start of each group, a staff member made a few quick announcements telling the kids to gather a bunch, then bring them to the table for their gift bag.

3…2…1… GO! Kids and parents took off running to gather eggs. Families made their own mini games in the mayhem, like first to gather 10 pink eggs wins.

After kids turned in their gathered eggs, they collected a goodie bag and were given the opportunity to get their picture with the Easter Bunny.

The event had music, got people outdoors and was only five dollars per participant. Pre-registration was required because they did limit the event to 40 kids per session. They held six sessions and families were encouraged to stay and play at the park. Of course, the weather did play a factor at the end of the morning with rain moving in, but most of the participants showed up, got a little wet and went home to warm up. Most importantly, folks got together and had a great time!
