Principal, Cottage Grove Elementary
As the school year comes to a close, I’m writing today to celebrate someone who has dedicated the last four years to supporting our students.
As an AmeriCorps member with Reading Corps, Austin Schwartz has focused on providing our students with extra practice and support to improve their reading skills. Over the past four years, he has given a total of 2850 hours to help our students succeed! Austin works one-on-one with students who need extra help building their reading skills. With Austin supplementing the excellent work our teachers are doing in their classrooms, we’ve seen wonderful growth.
“Austin has shown a strong work ethic and has shown up consistently to ensure that the students he serves are able to receive quality reading interventions throughout his 4-year term. He has stated that he loves what he is doing and would find great satisfaction in continuing this type of work. Austin has made connections with students and they will miss him!” – IC Linnea Gamache I couldn’t let the school year end without acknowledging Austin and all he has done to support our students. As Austin moves on to his next adventure this summer, we’ll have big shoes to fill in the fall. If you’re interested in joining our team as a Reading Tutor, please visit join.readingandmath.org
