KINGSTON PARK TO SEE FIREWORKS SHOW, FOOD AND ICE CREAM JULY 4

The Cottage Grove Lions are teaming up with City Hall, the goal being to bring local residents a good show with both fun and comradery.

“An annual tradition returns as the Cottage Grove Lions, in partnership with the City of Cottage Grove, host a Fourth of July picnic and fireworks show at Kingston Park,” the Facebook announcement by the City of Cottage Grove read. “This family-friendly event will feature vendors selling ice cream, roasted corn and cheese curds, and the Lions Club will be grilling up and selling their famous hot dogs, brats, and burgers. The Lions will also be raffling off a couple of children’s bikes.

Sponsored in part by Hy-Vee, 3M, Renewal by Andersen and Tennis Sanitation, the festivities at Kingston Park located at 9295 75th Street South in Cottage Grove, are due to kick off at 5 p.m. this July 4th, with fireworks at dusk. Founded in 1917 as a service organization, Lions clubs “are places where individuals can join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving their communities” as well as the world, according to www.lionsclubs. org. With the Cottage Grove Lions findable as a public group on Facebook at “Cottage Grove Lions,” those looking to serve their community or even volunteer July 4 have only to stop on down at the group’s site. The Cottage Grove Lions meet outside virtual reality on the third Tuesday of each month at Carbone’s in Cottage Grove, per their Facebook page.
