Cottage Grove native recognized for academic excellence, mentoring others

Cottage Grove native Bridgette Dalldorf has been recognized recently by the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, both on the grounds of academic excellence and mentoring others, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher and taking leadership roles in the classroom, among other acts of service.

Currently interning with Boston Scientific as a designer in its model shop, Dalldorf hopes to establish herself with a career in prosthetics and medical design.

“I would really like to help people,” Dalldorf said “I look forward to seeing the new innovations that the future brings and how far technology can go in the next 10 years.” In the meantime, she’s still in college, being a second year student in drafting and design at Dunwoody.

Among her service has been mentoring her high school’s first robotics team, along with rebuilding 3D printers from spare parts.

Dalldorf’s mechanical ability started young, where taking things apart to figure them out lead her to attend the Math and Science Academy in Woodbury before gaining experience in machining and design.

Known for excellent attendance and work ethic, Dalldorf is seen as an asset to the college she attends.

“Bridgette has been a tremendously positive asset to the MDES program and the while Manufacturing and Robotics Department,” Alex Wong said as director of Engineering and Design at Dunwoody, where he is a professor.
