Some 80 skaters from 11 rinks around the Twin Cities took to the ice Saturday and Sunday for the Sunburst Challenge 2022 held at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
There were 222 scheduled performances over the two-day event. Skaters from 4-years old to 26 showed their stuff on the ice.
Participating were skaters from the Buffalo Figure Skating Club, Cottage Grove Ice Arena, Doug Woog Arena, Hastings Civic Arena, Health East Sports Center, New Hope Ice Arena, NSC Super Rink, SportQuest Skating Academy – Parade, St. Croix Valley Recreation Center, St. Louis Park Rec Center and White Bear Lake Sports Center.
The crowd also got to see Cottage Grove skaters perform “Spys” before the group heads to Chicago for a competition in two weeks. Production cast members included: Keira Daniels, Kylie Daniels, Audrey Fredricks, Molly Jansen, Tessa Johnson, Kylie Kostohryz-Berry, Mara Loder, Aubrey Lovins, Caroline Lovins, Jenna McGowan, Hailey Paulsen, Josie Ramsden and Joseph James JJ Spier.
