Cottage Grove figure skaters won golds in both team and individual events in the ISI worlds recreational team championships held Aug. 4 through 7 at Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Ill.
Cottage Grove’s “Witches” took a first in ensemble, while the “Spys” group earned first in small team production. The “Rags and Bones” group finished second in ensemble.
“Our team did really well in all of their individual events and we took home the first-place trophy for our small production “Spys”,” said coach Lindsay Johnston.
Individual skaters representing Cottage Grove also fared well in the competition.
Hailey Paulsen scored a third place in solo program Beta, a third in solo compulsory Beta, a third in dramatic spotlight Beta and a first place in Jump and Spin.
Jenna McGowan gained a third place in Rhythmic Ribbon, finished first in solo program freestyle 6, fifth in Light Entertainment and fourth in Jump and Spin.
Josie Ramsden won first in Freestyle 6.
Kylie Kostohryz-Berry finished fourth in solo program silver, first in Freestyle 4 and fifth in Jump and Spin.
Tessa Johnson was fourth in Tot 2.
Kylie Davis earned a sixth in Rhythmic Hoop, finished second in Freestyle 4 and fifth in both Solo program Silver and in Jump and Spin.
