The Cottage Grove Council recently recognized winners for the 2024 annual photo contest at its Jan. 22 City Council meeting. Those submitting photos had to live in the city and take their photo in the city. Photo contest winners received a framed copy of their photo and certificate as well as an envelope with money.
Winning the Life in Cottage Grove category was Angie Schaffer with ‘Morning Run.’ Winning the Business in Cottage Grove category was Sabrina Thuringer with ‘Easter Egg Hunt,’ taken at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena. Winning the Cottage Grove Parks and Landmarks category was Joseph Pavel with ‘Smoke on the Water,’ taken at Ravine Regional Park. Winning the Faces of Cottage Grove category was Ashley Thompson with ‘Grizz.’
Over 50 people submitted photos for the contest, the photos then used in city promotional and other materials.
