Park seniors Ashley Davis and Makayla Bollman both went out in style Saturday in the 2026 Class AA state gymnastics meet held again at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
Davis medaled on the balance beam and finished 11th overall in the 2026 Class AA state all-around Saturday with a final score of 37.025.
Davis improved on her 16th place finish at the 2026 gymnastics all-around and score of 35.725 in last year's finals. She also went from 35th to 7th on the balance beam.
Senior classmate Makayla Bollman of the Wolfpack placed 27th in the vault (9.325) and 29th in the floor exercise (9.25) in her first crack at state.
Davis finished 16th on the vault (9.45), 29th on the uneven bars (8.65), seventh on the balance beam (9.475) and 11th floor exercise (9.45).
“Ashley competed in the all-around and got her personal best beam score (9.475) and her personal best all-around (37.025),” said Park head coach Ali Flaata. “She got a 9.45 on floor, a 9.45 on vault, and an 8.65 on bars. She placed seventh on beam and medaled! It was the perfect end to her gymnastics career.
“Makayla competed on floor and vault,” Flaata said. “She got her personal best on both events, floor (9.25) and vault (9.325). She could not have done any better.”
Lauren Hansen of Monticello won the all around with a score of 38.80 and Laney Schwellenbach of East Ridge was second (38.50) among the 24 competitors in the all-around.
Some 48 competitors went in the Claas AA individual events.
“This season was filled with consistent improvement as a team,” Flaata added. “We finished with our highest team score at JV conference and at sections. I am so proud of them.”
