Park junior Ashley Davis dominated the action with four straight event wins Thursday to easily win the all-around as the Wolfpack gymnasts bested visiting Mounds View/Irondale.
Davis finished first on the vault (9.075), bars (8.175), beam (8.7) and floor (9.4) to wrap up an all-around title with a score of 35.35.
Park won the dual meet 131.9 to 126.55. In three meets so far this season, Park has scored a 129.95 against Roseville, a 136.20 in the Interstellar meet at White Bear Lake and then the 131.90 on Thursday.
It was a solid night all around for the Wolfpack. Makayla Bollman (32.425) finished third in the all-around, Natalie Peters (23.875) was fifth, Clara Opichka (16.175) was eighth, Savanna Woulfe (15.675) 10th, Audrey Reimers (14.925) 11th and Isabelle Brown (8.1) 13th, Alice Wood 15th (7.85) and Kate Redmond was 16th (7.325).
Both Davis (first, 9.4) and Bollman (second, 9.05) cracked the nine-point mark on the floor. Peters finished fifth and scored an 8.55, Woulfe was eighth with an 8.125 and Wood ninth with a 7.85.
After scoring a 9.4, Davis was understandably happiest with her floor exercise.
“Probably my floor routine at the end,” said Davis. “I think I really showed it off and just had fun with it.
Davis, who went to state last season in the vault, is clearly better in the all-around this season, a fact she attributed to a lot of off-season work.
“I went to a few different gyms in the off season and the different coaches helped me and my coaches too,” said Davis. “I got more upgrades.”
Davis won the beam (8.7), Opichka was third (8.575), Woulfe fifth (7.55), Bollman sixth (7.175) and Reimers was eighth (6.775).
Bollman’s 9.05 on the floor was her best of the season and best since a 9.4 in club competition.
On the bars, Davis finished first (8.175), Bollman was third (7.9), Opichka fourth (7.6), Redmond sixth (7.325) and Peters was eighth (7.075).
The vault title also went to Davis with her 9.075 score. Bollman was fifth (8.3), Peters seventh (8.25), Reimers eighth (8.15) and Brown ninth (8.1).
Park competes at White Bear Lake in its next meet on Friday, Dec. 20, starting at 6:30 p.m.
