Kids will learn the ins and outs of safety at Old Cottage Grove Community Park from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 25 and 26 during this two-day adventure into youth safety.
According to Parks & Recreation Supervisor Brad Muckenhirn, “Cottage Grove Parks & Recreation, police, and fire departments are teaming up to encourage youth safety by providing Safety Campers with live demonstrations and presentations from top safety professionals.”
Muckenhirn added there will be more than 20 presentations and demonstrations at Safety Camp including Regions Emergency Medical Support & First Aid, Washington County 911 Dispatch, archery, fire education smoke house, bike safety, DNR/Washington County Water Patrol & lifejacket safety, kitchen safety, Fire Department truck ops, Washington County Mounted Patrol, among others.
Participants should come with a lunch in a labeled, disposable bag each day and a water bottle. On Wednesday July 26, participants should bring their bike and bike helmet. Ages 6-8 are welcome. Cost is $45 per participant and all participants must register by July 21. To register, go to www.cottagegrovemn.gov/registration.
