A Cottage Grove family is seeking information on who shot their cat—and they’re offering a reward for it.
Rusty, an orange tabby owned by Mike Busch and family, spent his days at Woodridge Park where he became a hit with kids, spending his days being petted by park goers. He also had a bond with his human brother Joey and made visits to nursing home residents in the area.
That is, until he was shot. Rusty was found Dec. 7 near a pond at Woodridge, with X-rays revealing a pellet in the spine.
“So we believe whatever coward did this unspeakable act was up close to Rusty, and then left him there,” Busch said.
A $1,500 reward is being offered, with those who might have information asked to call Cottage Grove police.
