Yassin A. Ahmed, 27, Woodbury, was charged in Dakota County District Court Thursday, July 6 with felony-controlled substance crime in the fifth degree – possession. On June 28, officers responded to a call regarding drug activity at the King of Diamonds on the 6600 block of River Road in Inver Grove Heights. According to the complaint, staff at the King of Diamonds reported a male refused to show security a bag in question that was believed to contain drugs. There was concern that the male might spike someone’s drinks, give the drugs out or sell them. It was also reported that the male, Ahmed, had threatened to swallow 30-40 pills, and then started to ingest pills. Medics were dispatched to the scene.

When police arrived, they saw the male suspect outside the building, holding a small plastic baggie of pills. He started to put something in his mouth, but police grabbed his hand to prevent him. The bag contained 20 yellow pills (Alprazolam) and 1 orange pill (Adderall XR).

Ahmed admitted he had taken five to seven Adderalls but later it was suspected he took 10 Xanax and eight Adderalls. Ahmed indicated that he buys illegal drugs and then goes to clubs to sell them. Based on the information gathered and the unknown number of illicit drugs ingested, it was believed that Ahmed was a threat to his own safety. He was trespassed by King of Diamonds and taken into custody by medics who transported him to Regions Hospital. A court summons was issued.
