Field athletes pace Wolfpack in meet

Park’s throwers and jumpers led the way Friday as the Wolfpack competed in the Tom Moore Invitational at Woodbury under sunny skies. A host of Park athletes set either season or personal bests as the track and field season heads to the finish line.

Senior Pajyeeb Kong won both the discus (106-04) and the shot put (36.05.75) to highlight the Park girls efforts.

Senior Aidan Boche finished first in the discus (146-11) and placed second in the shot put (45-06.75) in another personal best so far this season.

O’neal Attisso had himself another day, finishing first in the high jump (6-0), second in the long jump (19-11) and third in the triple jump (40-03).

Park finished third in both the boys and girls team races.

Woodbury easily won the boys half of the meet with 338.5 points. East Ridge was second with 98.5, Park third with 79 and Cretin-Derham Hall fourth with 56.

Woodbury’s girls also finished first, scoring 300 points. Cretin-Derham Hall was second with 120, Park third with 89 and East Ridge fourth with 79.

Boys results Friday

Kroix Pearson finished fourth in the 100 (11.32) and Gabriel Przekurat was seventh (11.60). Isaiah Diers was ninth in the 400 (58.53). Adam Kluz 10th in the 800 (2:28.78). Adebare Goodness Agunbiade was seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (21.00) and eighth in the 300 hurdles (49.91).

Leam Hieserich was eighth in the shot out (35-10.25) and Van Kassabian ninth (35-06.75).

Joshua Ola-Kazeem set a personal best of 5-10 to finish second in the high jump. Jayveon Wade finished third in the long jump (19-06).

Richardo Santos won the triple jump at 41-00.5 and was ninth in the long jump (17-10.5). Benjamin Paulsen was seventh in the triple jump (35-01.5).

Girls results Friday

Jana Hafiz won the 3,200-meter race in 13:13/51. Elizabeth Kamande was fifth (27.10) and Grace Sahli ninth (28.75) in the 200. Esme Edlund finished fifth in the 400 (1:07.46). Allison Devine was fifth in the 1600 (13:13.51). Marissa Korth was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (19.42).

Marlina Patrick was fifth in the shot put (27-05.50) and sixth in the discus (81-05) Ellanor Boche was eighth in the shot (24-04.25) and ninth in the discus (62-07). Kalkidan Fuge finished 10th in both the shot (22-05.50) and discus (55-10). Grace Sahli was seventh in the discus (77-09) and second in the high jump (4-04). Kylie Bender was sixth (6-06) and Clara Raway ninth in the pole vault (6-0). Esme Edlund was fourth in the triple jump (31-03), Audrey Finley sixth (27-06), Abigail Schmitzer seventh (27-04.50), Natalie Gobena ninth (25-02.75) and Aguru Omot 10th (24-03).

Next up for the Wolfpack is the Suburban East Conference meet, with the finals Thursday at White Bear Lake High School starting at 3:45 p.m.

Trio leads Wolfpack at Last Chance

Park’s track and field athletes knocked out personal and season best by the dozens Tuesday in the Last Chance Meet at Cottage Grove.

Pajyeeb Kong, Kroix Pearson and Aidan Boche led the parade as they were all double event winners in record-setting fashion.

Boche moved into second place on the all-time best Park list with a throw of 177-9 in the discus. He now trails only Mike Edmundson’s all-time best throw of 183-11 set in 1989. Boche also threw the shot 45-5.5 in another personal best.

Pearson won the 100-meter dash in a personal best time of 11.04 and also finished first in the 400 in 52.59. Kroix’s time in the 400 moved him into eighth place on the boys track honor roll.

Kong won both the discus (110-9) in a person best and led four Park finishers in the shot put, throwing 37-11, also a personal best. Kong was the third Park athlete to move into the school record book as her shot put ranks as the third best recorded. Her discus throw also fell just short of making the Park record book.

Park’s girls won the team race with 99 points, followed by Woodbury with 71 and Cretin-Derham Hall with 57. Woodbury’s boys finished first with 99 points, Park was second with 76.5 and Cretin-Derham Hall third with 28.5.

Girls results Tuesday

Hailey Garcia was 10th in the 100 (13.62), second in the 200 hurdles (53.14) and third in the 100-meter hurdles (19.72). Elizabeth Kamande finished second in the 200 (27.31), Maleah McMorrow was fifth (28.51) and Aline Sosa Guevara seventh (28.77). Grace Sahli took third in the 400 (1:10.34) and Paige Samuel was fourth (1:10.65). Allison Devine was second in the 800 (2:54.71), Alexandrea Cuellar third (3:10.43), Jaylynn Meyer fourth (3:45.89) and Annaleigh Johnson fifth (3:57.44). Marissa Korth finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (19.98) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (57.67).

In the relays Park was second (Lillie Finstad, Guevara, Kamande, Lauryn Forkrud, 54.41) and third in the 4x100 (Abigail Schmitzer, Audrey Finley, Natalie Gobena, Marissa Korth, 58.38), second in the 4x200 (Ava Lippert, Clara Raway, Abigail Wright, Finstad, 2:05.87) and won the 4x400 (McMorrow, Esme Edlund, Kamande, Malaya Ramirez, 4:32.57).

Following Kong in the shot put were Marlina Patrick, second (29-6.5), Elianor Boche, third (26-11), and Kalkidan Fuge, fourth (23-10.5). Patrick was third in the discus (79-4), Sahli fourth (66-9), Fuge fifth (58-6) and Bristol Hagen ninth (48-3).

Sahli finished third in the high jump (4-4) and Garcia was fourth (4-0). Kylie Bender won the pole vault at 7-6. Edlund was fourth in the long jump (13-8), Schmitzer sixth (12-10), Adedolapo Agunbiade eighth (12-0), Aguru Omot ninth (11-6 ) and Finley and Natalie Gobena tied for 10th (11-4). Edlund won the triple jump (33-2), Schmitzer was second (28-4), Finley fourth (27-0), Gobena fifth (26-4) and Omot sixth (25-5).

Boys results Tuesday

Eli Firchau (2:04.13) and Henry Joa (2:05.50) went 1-2 in the 800 meters, both in season bests. Will Mann was fifth in 2:29.78, a personal best. Liam Fleming won the 1600 in 5:15.06 and Graham Thompson was 10th (5:52.14).

Gabriel Przekurat was fourth in the 100 (11.15) and Shaheed Suggs sixth (11.38). Przekurat was also second in the 200 (23.56), Olumide Aluko eighth (24.37) and Dylan Davis ninth (24.39). Isaiah Diers finished seventh in the 400 (1:00.42) and Adebare Goodness Agubiade was eighth (1:011.14). Dominic Kamau was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (21.00) and ninth in the 200 hurdles (51.68). Agubiade was eighth in the 110 hurdles (22.41).

Park’s 4x100 relay team of Jason Burns, Joshua Ola-Kazeem, Jayveon Wade and Przekurat won in a time of 46.27.

In the throws, Cardon Fritsche was seventh in the shot (34-3.5) and Van Kassabian ninth (33-8). Michael Bennett was eighth in the discus (99-6).

Park junior O’neal Attisso continued his assault on the various jumps. He won the high jump at 5-10, finished second in the long jump at 19-1 and was third in the triple jump at 41-8.

Ricardo Santos won the triple jump at 42-9 and was ninth in the long jump at 17-7. Joshua Ola-Kazeem placed fifth in the high jump (5-2). Jayveon Wade was third in the long jump (18-9) and Torwon Dahn fifth (18-2). Benjamin Paulsen was eighth in the triple jump (35-9).
