To the editor:
I served for 28 years as an officer and SWAT team member with the St. Paul Police. I can speak to how critical it is for police and the public to elect leaders who have years of experience in public safety and police matters; who has worked directly with and advocated for public safety issues; who has directly supported police; and who has a to improve public safety and deal with the epidemic of gun violence. The only candidate in 41B that has that proven track record and that offers real solutions is TINA FOLCH.
As a Hastings City Council Member, Tina advocated for hiring an additional police officer to build stronger community engagement. Tina knows that providing police the support they need to do their jobs increases public safety and decreases crime. For a decade, Tina worked for the MN Department of Public Safety coordinating the Safe and Sober Enforcement campaigns with Law Enforcement statewide.
What both the public and the police are proven leaders who understand the issues. Unlike her opponent who has no plan to address the complex public safety issues and who has no solutions to reduce the epidemic of gun violence, Tina understands that advocating for common sense gun regulations would make it safer for both the public and the police.
Tina Folch has a proven track record of supporting police and public safety. That’s why I’m proud to support her in this election. Lucia Wroblewski Retired St. Paul Police Officer Afton
