Washington County Parks will feature six forest bathing sessions, including two full-moon walks, throughout 2025 in two different county parks.
Experience an ancient wellness practice being rediscovered anew in the 21st century. Join the group for an immersive, meditative, and awe-inspiring Japanese forest bathing experience (Shinrin-Yoku).
The practice encourages people to simply spend time in nature — no actual bathing required. It’s also very low impact, which means there are no intense trail runs or hikes. The forest bathing experience offers the chance to slow down and immerse your senses in the sights and sounds of the county’s green forested spaces with the goal of reducing stress and anxiety and enhancing focus.
Sessions will be held on the following days and locations:
• 7:30-9:30 p.m., Feb. 12 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve (Full Moon Forest Bathing).
• 9-11 a.m., March 22 at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park.
• 6-8 p.m., April 25 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.
• 9-11 a.m., June 21 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.
• 2-4 p.m., Sep. 21 at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park.
• 7-9 p.m., Oct. 6 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve (Full Moon Forest Bathing).
Space is limited for the program. The cost is $45 per person for each session and a Washington County Park vehicle permit is required ($7/daily or $30/annual). Register online at WashingtonCountyMN.gov/Parks.
