Enjoy “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” presented by Locally Grown Theatre under a twilight sky at Dodge Nature Center’s Shepard Farm on Oct. 13-15 and 20-22 from 5:30-7 p.m. This free show, inspired by the upcoming spooky season, is for all ages.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Mary and Andre Arnault, adapted by Washington Irving, takes place in the shadowed realm of Sleepy Hollow, a quaint village that clings to an eerie secret of a headless horseman who haunts the woods at night.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs. Parking is available in the paved lot. Access to Shepard Farm is on a one-way road, located at 8946 70th St. S. in Cottage Grove. The entrance is from 70th Street South. Vehicles will exit on Jamaica Avenue. Indoor, accessible restrooms are available. Participants are welcome to bring food and drink, but please bring out what you bring in—Dodge Nature Center is a zero-waste facility.

According to Locally Grown Theatre, their mission is “to plant the seed of theater; to cultivate the inner artist in youth; to nurture the love of theatre arts within the community; to grow artists, of all ages, through experimentation in multiple theatrical forms.”

They are a local theatre serving the communities of Cottage Grove, St. Paul Park, Newport, Grey Cloud Island, and the surrounding area.

This show is free to the public, but donations are always appreciated. Donations can be made at https://www.locallygrowntheatre.org/donations/
