It was a cold night and the Park athletes had to travel to Eagan for their section 3AA game against the third-seeded Wildcats.
Coach Sarah Neitz was proud of the girls resolve and how they came together for the Eagan game, “We are very lucky with the group of girls on the team. Our girls worked hard until the end. We felt that the wind served us well first half and in the second half, against the wind was a bit more challenging. We were very proud in the way our girls played.”
Kayden Ellevold had one of the best scoring chances of the night and the Wolfpack had a lot of great team possessions. The first goal for Eagan came on a shot that barely made it under the crossbar. Even with the girls fighting to survive, Eagan was able to score one more time and end the Wolfpack’s season.
Neitz gave a brief recap of the night, “After the game there were tears because they love each other and don’t want the season to end. We have great leadership from our seniors and starters including: Our Senior Keeper who has been a rock star who has kept us in many games, and our strong Center Defense of player Emma Osland, As well as, Right Defense: Natalie Todd, Attacker Sophie Wellmann, and Midfielder Julia Menard, center midfielder.”
Park finished the season with three wins, seven losses and one tie.
