Park lost some of its top swimmers from last season, said head coach Arachi O’Brien, but return several swimmers and divers who should make their marks this fall.
“Last season we had no seventh graders join but I am happy to announce we have seven fresh faces joining us,” said O’Brien. “We lost some great senior athletes last season, and they will be missed very much. I am also excited to lead the season solo and let myself grow into the kind of coach I want to be for this team.
“It's exciting to have so many young and dedicated athletes joining us and choosing to come back year after year. I learned a lot last season; I hope to do an even better job at helping these young athletes achieve their goals,” O’Brien continued.
Captains this season are senior diver Isabelle Brown and senior swimmer Katelyn Norgaard.
Park had a host of talented young swimmers on the roster last season, such as Chloe Micek, Grace Sahli, Evelyn Sahli and Chloe Omtvedt.
Park opens the season Thursday, Aug. 27, with big 10-team conference relays both at Edgewood and at Oltman Middle School. The Oltman meet starts at 5:30 p.m. Park’s home season opener is Sept. 3.
