Walk, bike, or drive to the grand opening of Glacial Valley Park, located at 9900 Ravine Parkway in Cottage Grove on June 10 from 5:30–6:30 p.m. There will be family activities and exclusive tours of the new facility.
Cottage Grove's newest community park includes sports fields, basketball/pickleball courts, a large playground, picnic areas, an ice-skating rink, trails, and open space to enjoy. The park also includes a 4,000 square foot building that is designed for multi-use programming/rentals, outdoor connections, and sustainability by utilizing solar energy systems.
Glacial Valley Park is a key link to a large ecosystem managed by the South Washington Watershed District and MN DNR which includes over 200 acres for their central draw watershed. The area includes native landscapes, waterways, trails, and a future interpretive center that all contribute towards preservation and protection of our land and water quality.
Park highlights include six pickleball courts, regional trail connection, a large, a rentable building with a catering kitchen, multi-use rectangular turf field, baseball diamond and an ice rink with a warming house.
