Seen towards sunset this past Thursday, the vicinity of Grey Cloud Island and associated waterways are an integral part of early Cottage Grove history, with plans for a regional park dating back to 1994. Grey Cloud Island was among the first areas settled within South Washington County, first by indigenous peoples and later by those who came to engage in the fur trade, along with logging and farming.
