From Page 1 The city council meeting was done in less than 10 minutes last week, as most items for review were on the consent agenda, and council members did not pull anything off of it for discussion.
“This could be a record. I better quit talking,” Mayor Myron Bailey said of the speed of the meeting., In the area of council reports:
•Council Member Steve Dennis urged citizens to be on the lookout because the nicer weather ushers in an increase in property crimes.
“We tend to notice a little uptick in crimes of opportunity,” said Dennis.
He urged residents to “look out for one another” and call police if they see anything suspicious.
Council member Justin Olsen asked citizens to remain vigilant about COVID-19.
“I’d like to remind folks that even though we have a lot of folks getting vaccinated for COVID-19, it remains extremely important that people are vigilant about all the things we’ve been taught over the past year,” he said, urging people to continue with masks, social distancing and sanitizing.
“At the end of the day, it’s still up to us and the way we behave,” he said.
