The final pay application for the HERO Center was approved by the Cottage Grove City Council last Wednesday night.
The project costs came in slightly less than the contracted amount. Final payouts were $17,383,492.48, which is more than $75,000 under what was projected, mostly because of damages assessed for construction delays.
The final payment approved last week was for $7,851.34 to RJM Construction.
“The City of Woodbury and the City of Cottage Grove hired RJM Construction to oversee the new regional training facility for police, fire and emergency medical services. The facility provides on central location to bring all safety responders, both locally and regionally, together in a safe, state-of-the art facility. As well as classrooms, the HERO Center includes a shooting range, a canine training yard, a large vehicle maneuvering area for apparatus and extractions, virtual reality training and two mock house structures. Construction was substantially complete October 14, 2019,” a letter from RJM Construction Project Manager Kelly Nickel states.
The resolution for payment was included on the consent agenda for the City Council meeting.
