The Holiday Lights Home Tour is officially on.
Open for registration as of November 12, the Holiday Lights Tour lets area residents show off their holiday decorating skills, with map live as of Wednesday, Nov. 26. New addresses will be added through Dec. 15. This wishing to show their decorative spirit can go to www.cottagegrovemn.gov/583/Holiday-Lights-Tour to register their address to the map.
Also taking place this holiday season in Cottage Grove are three Santa events. Starting things out this year is the annual Hometown Holiday event at city hall, located at 12800 Ravine Parkway. Taking place Thursday, Dec. 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., the Hometown Holiday in Cottage Grove includes Santa and Mrs. Claus, Wagon rides from parking lots, live reindeer, games and activities, food trucks, and the Park High School Choir.
For those who miss the Hometown Holiday, meanwhile, there’s another event, courtesy of the Cottage Grove Lions.
The Cottage Grove Lions will host Santa on Sunday, Dec. 7 at a Santa Breakfast 8:00 a.m. to 12:0 p.m. at the VFW Red Barn, located at 9260 East Point Douglas Road South in Cottage Grove. Cost for adults is $12, withkids price $8. Santa will be on hand for pictures at the event along with raffle prizes, all money going to support the Cottage Grove community. Breakfast at the Dec. 7 event includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy.
For those who miss Dec. 4 and Dec. 7 Santa events, meanwhile, there’s still the River Oaks Santa Brunch, planned for Sunday, Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at River Oaks Golf Course, located at 11099 Highway 61 in Cottage Grove. Cost for the River Oaks event is $25 for adults and $18 for kids, with those five and under attending free. Cost for the River Oaks event includes Photos with Santa, sleigh rides, and a North Pole breakfast.
