Come one, come all, to the 22nd annual CPKC Holiday Train event in Cottage Grove.

Making its way through Canada and the U.S. now through Dec. 21, the CPKC Holiday Train will stop in Cottage Grove Saturday, Dec. 13, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The train itself will arrive at 5:15 p.m. across from the Youth Service Bureau off West Point Douglas Road, just south of the 80th Street and Belden Avenue Crossing.

Area residents are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the delicious food and beverages, shop for Holiday Train Merchandise and warm up in the warming tent. Performers at this year’s Holiday Train event include American Authors and Pynk Beard, performing from the train stage. Now in its 22nd year locally and 27th year overall, the fun holiday event helps raise money and awareness for food pantries and community food banks.

Partnering locally with Friends in Need Food Shelf, the goal for this year’s Holiday Train is to raise $125,000 for Friends in Need Food Shelf. Area businesses and organizations can become a name sponsor or collect cash or personal care items for the event.

Those interested in helping sponsor the Holiday Train may contact Holiday Train Committee Co-Chairs Randy Bachman at 651-438-7385 or Sonya Fox at 651-209-3946.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Tain has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks across Canada and the U.S. come on out to the Holiday Train event this Dec. 13!
