Park High junior Dominic Jenkins finished 10th in the Class AAA 400-meter dash in a time of 49.54 at the 2024 Minnesota State High School track and field championships held at St. Michael-Albertville High School Thursday.
The top two in each heat advanced to the finals, plus the next three best times. Jenkins just missed advancing to the 400-meter finals. He had the ninth fastest qualifying time. He bested his prelim time of 51.06 by more than a second.
Jenkins’ time of 49.54 now ranks second on the all-time Park High list for the 400 meters. Only R.J. Alowonle’s time of 48.28 set in 2012 is faster.
