Voters in Minnesota's Tenth Judicial District will elect a new judge to an open seat this fall. I believe Rebecca A. Waxse is the candidate best prepared to serve with fairness, integrity, and respect.
Rebecca has nearly twenty years of experience in Minnesota courtrooms as both a public defender and private attorney. Her work has included criminal, juvenile, child-protection, and family-law matters. She has represented individuals in more than 10,000 cases and has extensive experience with contested
hearings, motions, court trials, jury trials, and sentencings. She appears in court regularly and understands both the law and the practical demands placed on a district court judge.
That range of experience is especially valuable because district courts handle matters that can profoundly affect people's lives. Rebecca has represented clients from many backgrounds, often during their most difficult moments. She has learned to listen closely, prepare thoroughly, recognize that every case is unique, and treat every person with dignity even when the issues are difficult or the parties disagree.
Rebecca's judicial philosophy is straightforward: a judge must faithfully apply the law, remain impartial, keep an open mind, and decide each case on its facts.
She also believes people should understand what is happening in the courtroom. When appropriate, she would explain procedures, rulings, and expectations in plain language so that litigants, victims, jurors, and members of the public can have confidence in the process. Rebecca's commitment to public service extends beyond her legal practice. She volunteers with her son's school, serves as the PTA's fundraising chair, helps organize community events, and has organized local food drives. Those experiences reflect her connection to the families and communities the Tenth Judicial District serves. Because this is an open seat, voters are choosing who should take on this responsibility. Rebecca Waxse has the courtroom experience, sound judgment, humility, and temperament to serve effectively from day one. I urge voters throughout the district to support Rebecca Waxse for judge.
