Featured Events Take and Make with KidCreate Studio: Picasso Portraits Wednesday, March 9 Create a self-portrait inspired by a classic artist, Pablo Picasso! We will use inspiration from Picasso’s cubist style to create our own portraits. Supplies will be provided for you to complete outside the library and will be available for pickup on a first-come, firstserve basis. For ages 5-12. Registration is not required. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Outdoor Family Storytime at Cottage Grove Raving Regional Park Monday, March 14 at 10 a.m.

Join us in singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing at this inclusive, welcoming storytime for families at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park. This storytime focuses on concepts such as life skills, counting, colors, emotions, patterns, and kindness. This storytime will be held outdoors. Please dress for the weather. It will be cancelled if there is a weather advisory. Registration is not required Virtual: Setting Up a Small Business Website Tuesday, March 15 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Get started with your new blog or small business website by learning how to register your business, pick a domain name and hosting service, and install software to run the site successfully. Other topics include configuring WordPress, choosing a design theme, using a plugin, and selecting a logo and branding. This workshop, hosted by Washington County Library and funded by MELSA, will be presented by Keer Keer Creative. This class will be hosted virtually via Zoom. Registration is required. Learn about different image formats and when to use them. Use free image editing software (such as Gimp & Pixler, VSCO) to manipulate, retouch, and import images and photos, and save them for print and web. Interested in selling online? This class will guide you through the decisions you need to make in to get started selling your product or service online. Topics that will be covered include WordPress and choosing an eCommerce platform, as well as selecting a payment platform such as PayPal.
