Park Grove Library featured events for October

All Washington County Library branches will be closed on Wednesday, October 20 for a staff training. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, October 21. Featured Events Virtual: BIPOC Genealogy Class Monday, October 4 from 6 to 8 P.M.

Not sure where to start with your own ancestry research? Presenter Marcus Simmons will help you use resources like FamilySearch. org and Ancestry Library and consider ethical and emotional considerations for the information you find. This virtual class concentrates on searching U.S. records and centers around the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Registration is required. Bingo at the Library Tuesday, October 5 from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M.

Come to Park Grove Library to play five games of Bingo and enjoy the company of other players. This program is for all adults and is co-sponsored by Basic Needs and Wellness 50+ in Cottage Grove. Join us to get your questions answered about Medicare and additional insurance options. We’ll help you understand the enrollment process and options that affect personal costs. Virtual: Starting Your WordPress Website, Part 1 Thursday, October 7 from 1 to 2 P.M.

This online class will teach you how to start building your WordPress website. Plan the structure of your site, create your home page and internal pages, and build a menu. Then, learn how to add text and images and design your header and footer. This workshop, hosted by Washington County Library and funded by MELSA, will be presented by Keer Keer Creative.
