From Mayor Bailey: We have received the 2020 census data for the City of Cottage Grove! I thought you might be interested to see how we look as a community!
Current population – 38,835 +4,246 people since 2010 13,445 households. +1,386 since 2010 Average household population 2.95 persons Unemployment – 3.9% Average home value – $249,800 Ethnic makeup of our community Asian – 7.1% Hispanic – 6.7% – Largest growing group since the previous census.
Black – 5.96% White – 74.58% Other – 5.66% Total City Acreage – 24,184 (Border to border) Total Park Acreage – 2,104 Percentage of citywide land currently as parkland – 8.69% Jobs in Cottage Grove – 8,210 Average Wages – $50,183 (Previous $31,646) Median Household Income – $102,000 (Previous $82,500) Person’s living below the poverty level 2.3% Much more data to review – but thought I would share some the top items that I took out of the census data.
