Park’s Chloe Micek won both the 50-yard freestyle (27.13) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.70) to lead the Park swim and dive team Thursday in a home meet against visiting Stillwater.
"It was a good test for us,” said Park head coach William Arnsparger. “Stillwater is a really strong and deep program and that's where we want to be someday. To be a great competitor you have to go against the best and not flinch at the opportunity to get after it. We definitely had some swims that showed that. We also were excited to have seventh grader Grace Sahli break a CGMS school record.”
Park was second in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Zoe Pfeiffer, Evelyn Sahli, Alayna Faletti and Micek finishing in 2:09.06. The Park team of Ella Langness, Pfeiffer, Ava Elthon and Ellie Imdieke clocked a 2:01.98 time in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Park’s 400-yard freestyle quarter of Faletti, Langness, Imdieke and Micek finished in 4:20.12.
Sarah Weston finished second in diving with a score of 189.75. Ruby Igl was fifth with 142.20 points and Alice Wood sixth with 126.20.
Faletti was second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.31. Grace Sahli had a 1:18.64 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Langness was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:25.81) and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:05.28. Imdieke was fourth in the 500 freestyle (6:27.29). Evelyn Sahli finished fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:41.86),
Park hosts Cretin-Derham Hall Thursday at the Cottage Grove Middle School pool, starting at 6 p.m., then competes in an invitational Saturday.
