MINNESOTA POLICE AND PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES STATE REPRESENTATIVE TONY JURGENS

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA), which represents Minnesota’s 10,000+ public safety officials who hold active law enforcement licenses in the state of Minnesota, has endorsed State Representative Tony Jurgens (R-Cottage Grove) for re-election.

“I am very pleased to receive this endorsement, as I understand the dangers law enforcement faces every time they put on the uniform,” Jurgens said. “ Months before the Minneapolis riots and again recently, I’ve taken ride-alongs with Hastings and Cottage Grove police officers, and Dakota and Washington County sheriff’s deputies to learn more about the dangers and challenges they face every day. I’m pleased the MMPOA realizes I will always stand with law enforcement and will always prioritize public safety and oppose efforts to defund any police department. “

Brian Peters, Executive Director of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, said, “The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association endorses Rep. Tony Jurgens because he is a strong supporter of public safety and stands with law enforcement and first responders to keep communities safe. He stands against attempts to defund and dismantle the police, and will promote smart public safety proposals. We hope those in Afton, Cottage Grove, Hastings, and surrounding townships support and vote for Rep. Tony Jurgens.”

The MPPOA is the largest association representing public safety professionals in the State of Minnesota. Members include police officers, correctional officers, dispatchers, and firefighters
