New head coach Alain Rodrigue takes over for the 2026 season with a few veterans missing but most of the 2025 eligible for playing time this spring.
Rodrigue, who replaces co-coaches Matt and Gavin Foote, brings a wealth of lacrosse experience to Park.
He’s coached state championship teams in Idaho as well as college teams in Minnesota, Idaho and New York. He played and coached lacrosse at St. Cloud State. He’s also a registered MSHSL official and owner of East Side Lacrosse.
Park graduated just four seniors off last year’s junior-heavy team.
“So far we have a young group,” Rodrigue said. “We have a good mix honestly. Our numbers are a little low but what I’m really excited about is they’re very hungry for knowledge and to get better. So we’re going to harness that and hopefully we’ll try and compete.”
It was a 2025 boys lacrosse season almost equally divided in highs and lows for the Park Wolfpack last spring.
The Wolfpack went 7-8 last year. Park had two three-game winning streaks sandwiched around a six-game losing streak in the middle of the season. The Wolfpack were 3-6 in the Suburban East Conference, finishing eighth.
In the Section 3 playoffs, seventh-seeded Park outscored Simley 16-11 in the first round, then dropped a 16-5 decision to second-seeded East Ridge in the quarterfinals.
Then junior attacker Bradley Johnson (52 goals, 22 assists), junior Zachary Devaan (31 goals, 9 assists), junior Sam Reckinger (22 goals, 6 assists), senior Jacob Czarnota (15 goals, 11 assists) and sophomore Evan Foote (6 goals, 15 assists) led Park in offense last season. And all are back with the exception of Czarnota.
Junior Gavin Sand got almost all of the minutes in goal, allowing 174 goals in 284 tries with 110 saves.
“There’s a few seniors that I expect will lead by example and are going to be good players for us,” Rodrique said.
Asked his expectations for the season, Rodrique said. “More than anything that they care and support one another and play as a team.”
Park opens the season Thursday, April 9 at Hastings in a game at McNamara Stadium starting at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack then play at Simley on Saturday at 11 a.m. and follows that with a game at Woodbury on Tuesday, April14 at 7 p.m.
