The Newport Transit Center at 250 Red Rock Cross in Newport will soon provide metro area transportation again.
Announced recently by Metro Transit, Route 345 will connect Woodbury, Newport, West St. Paul, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and Bloomington, providing fast and reliable service to area residents seeking to get across town.
Service for Route 345 will run seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., buses will run every hour, with service connections to other routes at Woodlane Station in Woodbury, Newport Transit Station, Robert Street and Marie Avenue in West St. Paul, along Livingston Avenue in West St. Paul, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, American Station and Route 54 at various bus stops in Bloomington, as well as the Mall of America Transit Station in Bloomington. Route 345 will also have three Park and Ride lots at Woodlane Station, Newport, Transit Center, and the 30th Avenue Station in Bloomington.
An open house event with more information will take place Dec. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Newport Transit Center, in Newport.
